back again with different hair

Blogging really isn't my thing, it seems. I don't have the time or patience to document my outfits that often, and I'm particularly shy about asking my friends/parents/whatever to take pictures of me. But I'm good with taking pictures of my make-up :)

AND THEN I GOT MY HAIR CUT!!!

But life continued and the world continued spinning.

And I worked on my AP Studio Art portfolio too:

AND THEN I COLORED MY HAIR, but the world continued to spin some more.

That's all!

i'm just a gal

So I have started dressing in my favorite style again, gyaru! It feels natural to me, so I don't feel like I am stealing someone else's style, like I felt when I was following the popular style blogger trends. The main point of gyaru style is fun, sexy, and cute so uh what is there not to love? :)

Sara (the girl in the first picture with me) and I went to the Hub after the last day of school before winter break to eat at King Noodle, since we both decided that noodles ARE in fact a great rainy day food. We ran into Minal and Stephanie there too, which was totally random because not many kids from our school would come this far to hang out. After noodling it up, Sara and I wandered over to Target so she could buy the jacket in the first picture for a hot date she had the next night ;) We then went to Border's where I picked up Island by Aldous Huxley. Will I ever stop loving utopian books? Nope :)

Dress: F21
Leggings: Marshall's
Cardigan: Macy's
Bow: online store! I need to find this LJ seller again to get some new accessories.
Shoes: Payless
Bracelet: Banana Republic
Ring: Hong Kong

I look awfully sad in those pictures, but I am definitely not! Tired, maybe. Or I was just pooped from the excitement of winter break!

I know I should mention what I used if this is going to be a part-time make-up blog, and that will be my new year's resolution. I promise.

Two other looks, and I'll be making a video tutorial for the first look. I sort of went overboard, but I think that if I'm going to wear make-up, then I should make it worth the hassle.

Merry Christmas!

I HAVE RETURNED

Sorry for the unexpected hiatus! After a few months of weaning myself of being completely dependent on other fashion bloggers for my sense of style, I realized that I don't need to read any of it. My style is totally lazy, random, and generally whatever I want to throw on that day. I hated meticulously planning my clothes the night before. It came to the point where I spent an hour deciding my clothes.

I realized that I don't have the same passion and interest in fashion as I do with cosmetics and just other things I do regularly. So, even though it's not quite the new year, I've decided to revamp my blog. I won't be consistently sticking to one subject like clothes and fashion, but I might talk about viral videos (like Jizz in my Pants, anyone?! loved it.) and my make-up for the day.

This is my blog, a representation of who I am. I can't confine my schizophrenic personality to one subject! Hopefully there will be a common theme throughout my blog, and when I see that there is, I'm just going to assume that's my true identity.

Happy holidays, everyone!

Throwin' Up Your Sign

This past Saturday night, three classrooms burned down including the special ed room. I heard from the rumor mill that it was a gang-related arson.

I HATE MY HIGH SCHOOL BECAUSE FOR A RELATIVELY NICE SUBURBAN TOWN, IT IS RIDDLED WITH GANGSTERS THAT MAKE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE AT SCHOOL.

I wore my uber comfortable rose-printed scarf on Monday, and was asked by school administration to take it off. I understand that wearing gang colors (red vs. blue at our area) is unsafe, but srsly?! I was wearing oxfords, a ruffle grey dress, and a dark grey drapey cardigan. Did I look like a gang member? Obviously.

The next day when I had completely forgotten that I was a gangster, I wore my new blazer and thought I looked hella good. I started feeling uncomfortable even before lunch, so I took it off and stuffed it in my locker ):

Black shirt: Gap; Grey tube dress (folded to be a skirt): Hollister; Velvet beaded belt: mom's closet; Red blazer: Marshall's
I just wish that school could be a safe environment where what color I wear determines how safe I am. I rather just worry about how other catty girls think of my clothes and not whether I'm going to be shoved in the halls or even possibly shot. Last year, there was a gang-related shooting at the doughnut shop across the street from my school DURING LUNCH when high school students were inside buying food! RIDICULOUS.

In other news, I thrifted a skirt last week and I'm going again, with a friend, tomorrow!

I went to Berkeley to visit a friend, eat the best frozen yogurt ever (clearly, I am addicted to froyo), and buy NOTHING. I go to Telegraph and I leave empty-handed. Somebody tell me where the cute vintage stores are at?! Oh, and the American Apparel there was a total disappointment. I was expecting some kind of epic store front and I get this tiny closet. You suck again, AA.

Blazer: J. Crew; T-shirt dress: Volcom; Scarf: mom's; Oxfords: Payless
I LOVE Mims from lookbook.nu. She is a darling and dresses so well. I tried to copy my favorite outfit of hers, but she wore a white parka and I only have a white oversized jungle-explorer blazer from my mom. Didn't really go with the rest of the outfit, will try to integrate blazer into other clothes.

Cardigan: Gap; Dress: Volcom; Scarf: thrifted; Oxfords: Payless
Who else watched Gossip Girls tonight?! I didn't really watch for the fashunz today since I was multitasking (psychology homework and lookbook.nu) and just listening, but woah okay. The writers like to make us confused out of our minds with these TWISTS and scandals. I think I should let everybody know that I am, in fact, in love with Chuck Bass. And I thought Jenny's design on the form was no bueno, to be honest.

Cardigan: Gap; Tank: Gap; Skirt: Abercrombie and Fitch; Oxfords: Payless
If anyone was wondering, I'm holding my lamp to control the light better. The yellow thing is an LV ribbon that comes with gift boxes that I got for free when I volunteered at a gift-wrapping booth. Sadly, there are times where I think this is the only LV I will ever own.

I'm feeling a lot more positive about finding my own style :)
